fascinating and outrageous fashion accessories

Playful experimentation or simply outrageous? You decide

Think accessories are merely just supporting elements in a look? The SS23 runway had us wondering about the same. Since clothes have undergone a makeover to make them more suitable for a metaverse meet up, accoutrements, too, have received a somewhat similar treatment. Some of the accessories – bags and shoes – that we spotted made us wonder about the designer’s sheer creative genius while also leaving us a little perplexed, to say the least. Either way, we thought it’s best to bring these fashion accessories to the fore. How you use them in the real world – that’s up to you.

Have you, like most of us, flung your tote bag over your shoulder and gone about living your everyday life? Demna took this idea a step further by making a bag that can be flung not only over the shoulder but also be used as a glove. Talk about added no-slip security!

Coperni

The brand that earned the maximum earned media impact in SS23 was Coperni or walking a near-naked Bella Hadid on the runway and spraying a dress on the supermodel later on. In the same show, though, they also debuted their newest bag, the Baguette whose solid hand-blown glass version has been creating headlines since.

“Relax, I don’t bite,” sounds like a line these MORSO shoes would say if only they were not inanimate. Introduced on the runway in Fall 2022, these shoes, and its many summer-worthy renditions, have been spotted on the most influential feet.

These dangerously high and complex-shaped raffia heels are one of the latest surrealist offerings from the house of Schiaparelli by Daniel Roseberry. You can buy the shoes but how to walk in them is left to the wearer’s discretion.

This bag already comes filled with whimsy and nuances of childhood nostalgia making up for the space or lack thereof to hold anything real or significant. Designed by American designer Kate Barton, throw it on this accessory bag regardless for a fun experience.

Loewe

While Loewe’s designs were inundated with 3D anthuriums from the waist up, the shoes, though, had their own sort of party going on with objects akin to balloons populating them. Eclectic designs are nothing new at JW Anderson, but these shoes still made us stop and stare.
